At Global Access Media, we believe there is more that connects us than divides us.
We believe Ignorance is a key component of conflict and Information is a key component of peace.
We believe that humanity is served through socially responsible and credible media.
Global Access Media operates as a nonprofit corporation and our content is fully funded by the public, for the public. Our mission is to provide viewers independent and free media covering the important issues of our time from a compassionatea and humanizing perspective.
We intend to move away from the current media and societal rhetoric of criticism, fear and blame, and focus on the underlying human needs and values of the issues. We intend to encourage our audience to leave behind preconceived emotions and judgments and focus on the facts and the consequences of the issues, promoting the rational discourse that allows potential solutions to be uncovered.
At Global Access Media, we fundamentally believe that ethical media is a vital component in the creation of a peaceful, just and sustainable society.
GLOBAL ACCESS TEAM:
Presently, all the content on this website is the work of the two founders of Global Access Media. Our goal is to expand our efforts with your help.
Mark Manning
(Co-Founder)
Mark Manning began his working career at the age of 17 as a commercial deep-sea diver, working the depths of the oceans for 20 years. The ocean became his mentor and teacher. Having a passion for social justice and an appreciation for the positive power of media in the right application, Manning founded ConceptionMedia in 2001, an independent film company dedicated to using film as a tool for positive social change. Following 9/11, Manning produced and directed a feature documentary, American Voices, which takes an in-depth, introspective look at American culture and psyche. When the Iraq war began, having become disillusioned with the available coverage in the western media, Manning traveled to Iraq to seek answers for himself and became the only westerner to live with the people of Fallujah following Operation Phantom Fury. From that experience, he co-founded an international relief agency specializing in relief missions into combat zones and produced two documentaries: Caught in the Crossfire (2005) and The Road to Fallujah (currently in release). He is currently in development on a feature film and book. Press coverage has included: Variety, LA Times, Air America, Entertainment Weekly, LA Weekly, Democracy Now, Free Speech TV, The Alex Jones Show, Clear Channel, Al-Arabiya, Fox, CBS, NBC and the World Tribunal on Iraq.
